The History of University

November14, 1988 was the date when Jinan University undertook its mission as an institution for higher education to contribute to enriching and elevating the youth’s level of education and knowledge, sustaining their values and principles.

The University started out with the Faculty of Business and Administration and the faculty of Communication in its early stages where it enabled its students who had put their trust in the university from the beginning, to graduate with a higher education diploma. Then the Faculty of Literature and Humanities and the Faculty of Public health were launched and the university took a pledge to work toward its right in accreditation. On December 12, 1999 Jinan University was officially approved by the Ministry of Higher Education under Decree No. 1948.

The University has offered its students the best levels of education in all fields possible, adopting all available modern means of education and employing a principled professional educational staff has served to create a distinguished generation.

Jinan University is a member in the Arab Universities League, Islamic Universities and Lebanese Universities League; also it is a member of the Arabic/ European League.

In October, 2005 Jinan University carried out its mission believing that education is a human right and has launched a study center in Saida /Bramieh, to admit students into all its majors. The major achievement was launching a new campus for its main branch in Tripoli in September 2006 that includes modern and most importantly lab. So as to meet the students´ambitions and assure them practical training experience.

Jinan University has always ensured a high quality in Education and curriculums, so as to keep pace with international universities and have equal academic and education levels.
