The Language Center

Mission

The Language Center is continuing Jinan University’s mission in the realms of knowledge and human cultures. It is to serve the people of the North of Lebanon. The center was founded in 1996 and was the first of its kind in Tripoli and the North of Lebanon in teaching Arabic for non- native speakers. Furthermore, it is the first to teach the Chinese language by teachers certified from the Chinese Embassy.

Objectives

In a world of intercontinental communications, the number of languages one knows has become a standard of civilization and modernity. Like all the modern societies, the people of the North have connections and relationships with the people worldwide. So the main objective of Jinan Language Center is to address the desperate need of the North to learn languages. It is to strengthen the linguistic skills in more advanced levels and standard; and to prepare the students for international tests such as TOEFL and ILETS.

Jinan’s Language Center offers its services to:

Businessmen
Academic Researchers
Professionals: (doctors, engineers, lawyers, pharmacists)
Foreign wives and their children
Workers in the field of diplomacy and their representative offices
All those who are willing to learn languages

Instructors

Specialized instructors run the teaching process using modern technology as a main part in the teaching process. Classrooms are equipped with audiovisual equipment that creates an ideal technological environment.

Duration of Courses

The Arabic language for Non- native speakers is available on a semester /yearly basis.
Chinese, Spanish, German, Turkish as well as English and French sessions last for three-month periods.
